SGA ElectionsSGA Elections A few of our fifth grade Longhorn students delivered speeches to their fellow fourth and fifth grade student body today, explaining why they should represent our school in the Student Government Association.

Three students, Jayden T., Mahari L., and Amirah I., ran for President. Two students, Serena C., and Jayla M., ran for vice president. Destiny M., and Jasmine S., ran for SGA secretary. All of the students gave wonderful speeches delivering their platform with topics ranging from giving our students more of a voice and creating more clubs. The winners of the election will be announced on Monday, October 24th, 2016.

65th MP CO ABN at MRES 65th MP CO ABN pictureOur fifth graders were excited to learn that soldiers from Fort Bragg’s 65th Military Police Company (ABN) donated supplies to their classrooms. Our students had a chance to interact with the soldiers, shaking their hands, asking questions, and learning things they may not have known about the Army. We extend a special thank you to Nikol D., Seth W., Zachary L., Rolland S., Captain Matthew C., LaMarkus D., Kyle L., and Alex H.

Thank you for your service!

Cookies For CrayonsChick-Fil-A located in Cross Creek Mall provided our kindergarten students with sets of crayons for the school year. For every one cookie sold at Cross Creek Mall’s Chick-Fil-A, a pack of crayons were donated. Thank you to Joel and Andrea Sellers, as well as Julia and Morgan of the Cross Creek Mall Chick-Fil-A. We can’t wait to see the smile on our kindergartners faces on August 29th, 2016 with their new packs of crayons!
