The tax free weekend for general merchandise purchased in North Carolina is scheduled to begin August 2, 2013 and end on August 4, 2013. The tax free weekend will apply to the following items: clothing, footwear, and school suplies under $100.00, sports and recreation equipment under $50.00, computers under $3,500, and computer equipment under $250.00.

There are going to be some really good deals during this time so I hope everyone is able to catch some of the great deals,  especially on the school supplies so that the children can come back to school prepared and ready to learn!

Prime Time will have all day Day Care here at Morganton Road Elementary starting August 19th thru August 23, 2013. Prime Time will be back on full schedule beginning August 26th, 2013,  which is the first day of school.

The summer schedule for Morganton Road Elementary will begin on June 17-August 16. You can also contact office staff at Morganto Road Elementary by phone at 910-867-4137 and fax by 910-867-1030 for any additional information. 

The Schedule will be:

 Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and we will be closed on Friday.

If you are looking to enroll your child for kindergarten you will need to bring the following documentation in order to get them enrolled:

• Birth Certificate
• Shot Record
• Copy of child’s physical examination
• Proof of parent/custodian address which must be a utility bill such as a water bill or a gas bill. Please do not bring your lease it must be one of the listed above.
• Copy of parent ID

Note: Children presented for initial enrollment into kindergarten must turn five years of age on or before August 31 of the school year in which they enroll.

If you are enrolling any child that is in another grade other than kindergarten you will need to provide the same documentation that is in the list above.

Mrs. Harris is a wonderful third grade teacher here at Morganton Road Elementary. She represents great leadership for the third grade team and is an excellent role model for the children. Mrs. Harris is a very positive person with a great attitude and we want to thank her for all her hard work!
